We are committed to listening to and honouring the voices of First Nations peoples. Through genuine partnership and shared decision-making, we strive to advance health, wellbeing, and equity for Aboriginal communities across our region.

In 2024/25 we:

Partnered with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people and communities.

Worked with local cultural educator and Aboriginal community members capturing footage to develop a localised cultural awareness online learning package.

Partnered with Katungul and a dental provider to deliver mobile dental services to South Coast communities, focusing on First Nations people and those with limited access to care.

Facilitated a palliative care in Aboriginal communities regional working group.

Were awarded Cancer Institute NSW grant to improve cervical screening for Aboriginal women in Illawarra Shoalhaven.

Commissioned the delivery of a chronic pain management program for the Aboriginal community in Yass.

Supported Grand Pacific Health community co-design of a vaccination education and awareness campaign for Aboriginal communities.

Designed new dementia support webpage to support Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

Developed culturally appropriate resources to meet the needs of consumers living with dementia, carers, and health professionals.

Provided small grants to four general practices to embed culturally safe care, aiming to improve accessibility and health service uptake for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

    Co-designing culturally safe general practices in South Eastern NSW

    Through a co-design approach, five mainstream practices partnered with Aboriginal consumers and staff to create culturally safe, welcoming environments that honour identity, build trust, and improve health outcomes.
