Building GP confidence in opioid dependence treatment

COORDINARE is supporting GPs across South Eastern NSW to build confidence in opioid dependence treatment (ODT) through a targeted pilot program.

Participating GPs complete accredited ODT training and will take on five stable patients on opioid replacement therapy (excluding methadone). They are supported by an experienced GP lead in collaboration with local drug and alcohol services.

This initiative aims to increase the number of ODT prescribers and improve care for people with opioid dependency, by linking them to regular general practice care.

By building GP capacity and strengthening support networks, COORDINARE is helping transform lives – one patient at a time.
