Supporting and celebrating primary health care nurses
COORDINARE proudly marked the inaugural Primary Health Care Nurses Day on 5 February, celebrating the dedication and impact of nurses working across general practices, aged care, schools, and other community settings in South Eastern NSW.
To champion ongoing professional development, we awarded scholarships for practice nurses to attend the APNA Festival of Nursing in Adelaide. This national event offers cutting-edge clinical education, workshops, and networking opportunities.
In July 2024, Melanni Auld from Shellharbour City General Practice and Kate Green from Bombala Medical Centre received the scholarships. Melanni was eager to explore nurse-led clinics and enhance cardiovascular health checks, while Kate aimed to expand the scope of nursing practice to address doctor shortages in her area.
COORDINARE also offered nurse scholarships to attend the Festival of Nursing in Brisbane in July 2025, which will be featured in next year’s Annual Review.
These initiatives reflect COORDINARE’s commitment to empowering nurses, strengthening primary care, and improving the health and wellbeing of communities across South Eastern NSW.
